Welcome to the 1st international and interdisciplinary conference Music and technologies held in Kaunas, Lithuania, 11-12 November, 2011. We hope this conference will extend ideas and geography of participants in the interdisciplinary music community such as CIM (Conference on Interdisciplinary Musicology) or ISMIR (International Society for Music Information Retrieval) and also enlarge discussion in the field of music technologies. We welcome researchers and practicians in humanities (analysis, art, composition, cultural studies, education, ethnomusicology, gender studies, history, linguistics, literature, media, performance, philosophy, prehistory, theory), sciences (acoustics, biology, empirical psychology and sociology, mathematics, medicine, perception, physiology, psychoacoustics, empirical psychology and sociology, physiology, statistics), musical data (creation, modelling, processing, searching) and especially in music technologies (broadcasting, hardware, producing, recording, software).
Main themes of a conference cover the general aspects of music communication via technologies and include music composition, performance, analysis, perception and cognition. Interdisciplinary combination of humanities and sciences should be in focus of your presentation.
It is possible to participate as an active or passive participant. Active participants are invited for 20 minutes talk (with additional 10 minutes for a discussion) or poster or demonstration. Passive participants (making no presentations) are allowed to join all conference programme, i.e., the same as active participants.

After the notification of acceptance of your abstract, you can prepare full text of your paper. The full text is optional and it makes no influence onto your participation in the conference. The text should be sent by the 1st of October. The template of the paper is here.
Abstracts will be published in a conference booklet. Full text papers also will be published in a separate conference proceedings.
A special workshop for students will be organized on 10th November, the day before a conference. Number of places for students is limited up to 20. Priority is given for the first registered candidates.
Language of a conference and workshop is English.
